Spring House Tour

Think SPRING and read along for a cheerful tour of our home. I’m honored to have been included in this year’s It’s a Colorful Life Spring Home Tour along with other color loving bloggers! We want to use our blogs during this time to provide a distraction and share easy and small updates to bring in spring. I’ll be sharing peaks into my living and family rooms.

It’s no secret that color is my jam and spring is the perfect time to introduce those bright hues. I keep my home colorful all year round, so when those warmer temperatures arrive I turn to flowers. My spring time go-to is tulips of any color and my vase of choice is obviously ginger jars. It instantly adds a pop of color to your space with a classic touch. I’m also a big fan of mint julep vases and mason jars, it really depends on how many flowers I’m using and the size of the surface that I’ll be placing them on.

I find it helpful to do small updates throughout the home a couple times a year to keep things feeling fresh. There’s no need to spend a lot of money or do a complete room make over, little tweaks can go a long way. Scattering flowers throughout a few rooms is inexpensive with llittle effort while making a big impact. I also recommend changing up your throw pillows and you don’t necessarily have to buy new ones. I often rotate my pillows into different room around the house when the seasons change .

Our family room is packed with color and pattern, so adding a fresh bouquet of flowers does the trick. Try introducing flower colors that aren’t present in the room to add a contrast and create a focal point for the eye. Now is the time to clear out the clutter and remove the winter essentials. So wash and and put away the heavy cozy blankets and store the chunky knit pillows until next winter.

Adding paint color to your walls is another affordable change with significant impact. We’re always up for adding more color in our home, but we’re fresh out of wall space at the moment. We’re all cooped up at home so if you’ve been pondering a paint project it might be the perfect time to get on it. Grab some brushes, paint cans and painters tape and have at it!
