Bedroom Reveal

Here’s a peak into our bedroom progress. I should probably call this a bed and nightstand update rather than a whole bedroom, but you get the picture and it’s a update nonetheless!
As you know, we plan to be in this bedroom temporarily (at least the next couple years). We’re right down the hall from our still young children and plan to move to the other side of the house when they’re a bit older. We have an in-law suite above our garage that will require a facelift and updates that we’ll eventually move over to. This will give us and them the space we need as they get older.

As you can see, it’s quite similar to our last bedroom but with a few meaningful updates. We refreshed some shams, swapped out pillows, new lampshades, and new bedside tables. Below I’ll break down each update and where to shop for the same / similar look.

I’ll start with our gorgeous new Rail and Stile bedside tables as these are what prompted the refresh. Prior to moving, we decided to leave behind our old bedsides tables. They were more shabby chic and matched our old dresser that we also left behind. So this left us bedside table-less. I knew that I still wanted white, but I was searching for a more traditional look with faux bambo legs. I head over to Rail and Stile because of their diverse collection of well-made vintage furniture. Whether you’re searching for Hollywood Regency, Palm Beach, Mid Century Modern, you name it and they can refresh it and give older pieces new life. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of our tables and they fit in our space perfectly, which was tricky because it’s a narrow room. Also, the customer service at Rail and Stile is top-notch, they’re there to help you through the whole process- highly recommend!

Next up, let’s talk bedding! We kept our classic blue and white striped duvet cover from Crane and Canopy along with our navy blue wing back headboard from One Kings Lane. I’d always wanted a fresh pair of monogram shams for our bedroom and I knew Southern Linens was the place to go. I love so many of their unique monograms and colors and we’re so pleased with how these diamond monograms turned out. The finishing touch was this gorgeous bolster pillow from Fostered Furnishings. The blues tie in so beautifully with the rest of the bedding and the Thibaut Alidth floral pattern adds the perfect touch of femininity. Katie of Fostered Furnishings can not only help with all your pillow needs but drapery, wallpaper, and furniture as well!

Last but certainly not least are our stunning scalloped lampshades from Cruel Mountain Designs. They’re raffia and scalloped - need I say more? Such a fabulous combination and a welcomed addition to the bedroom. Our previous shades were basic white and weren’t bringing anything to the table, so we’re pleased that these add some more texture and interest to the room.
That’s all for now! We don’t plan to put much more into this space as we’ll be relocating in a few years, but stay tuned for our children’s bedroom updates which are next up!
